EssayCoach is going to ask you some personal questions over the next few weeks. So you should know how we treat what you share with us. Read this once.
⛔ Three things we will never do
1
Sell your data.
No advertisers, no data brokers, no marketing partners. Ever. There is no advertiser API in our product because we believe ads have no place near 17-year-olds writing about their lives.
2
Show it to admissions readers.
They only see the final essays you submit through Common App or your school's portal. Never anything else — not your Profile, not your memories, not your storylines, not your conversations with Iris.
3
Show your school or parents anything without your explicit yes.
That includes counselors, teachers, and guardians. Default is OFF. If you want a parent to see something, you flip it on. We don't pre-check the box.
✅ Three things we promise to do
1
Make it easy to take back.
Any memory, profile entry, or storyline — one tap to delete. We don't make you confirm three times or argue with you. If you want it gone, it's gone.
2
Show you exactly what we know about you.
No hidden data. There's a Privacy Dashboard you can open any time — every memory, every Profile note, every storyline, every time Iris used something for an essay. What you see is everything we have.
3
Never train AI models on your private writing.
Your stories are yours. We use Anthropic Claude as our AI model — they don't train on customer data by default. We only consider an opt-in feedback loop for specific features, and we'd ask you first.
